Nico Quit

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 7 October 2026

Nico Quit Smoking Game (“the app”, “we”) is a game that helps people quit smoking. It is available as a mobile app for Android and iOS and as a web version at nico-game.com/app. We built it so that your data stays with you.

Data we collect

None. The app has no accounts and does not send your data to us or to any server. It contains no ads, analytics, crash reporting or tracking tools, and no third-party SDKs that collect data.

Data stored on your device

For the game to work, the following is saved locally on your device: the name or nickname you choose, how many cigarettes you smoked and the pack price, your game progress, notes you write, hard moments you log, daily check-ins, calendar events and your settings. This data never leaves your device and we never see it.

Notifications

If you turn them on, reminders are scheduled locally on your device. We do not use push servers. You can turn them off at any time in the app or in your device settings.

Backups

The “Save progress” feature creates a file that you choose where to send (for example, your own email or cloud storage). We have no access to this file.

Donations (web version only)

Donations are voluntary and are processed by Stripe on Stripe’s own payment pages. We never see or store your card details. Stripe shares with us only what is needed to record the payment (such as the amount, and the email address you enter on the payment page). We use this only for accounting and to answer you if you contact us.

Website hosting

The website and the web version are hosted by Netlify, which may process technical data such as IP addresses in its server logs to deliver and protect the site. We do not use these logs to identify you and we do not use cookies.

Deleting your data

You can delete all your progress in the app (“Me” screen → “Start over”), by uninstalling the app, or, in the web version, by clearing the site’s data in your browser.

Children

The app is intended for adults who want to quit smoking. It is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone.

Health information

The app does not provide medical advice. The recovery milestones shown are approximate and based on public information from the WHO and the NHS. If you have a health condition or a strong addiction, please also talk to a doctor.

Your rights

Because we do not collect personal data, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete. For donation records held by Stripe, you can contact us and we will help.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above.
